Aiming at Heaven but Living in Random
Wise agents always decide their end before they commence their work. They will then direct their actions to that goal, to where they have set their face.
If a mariner sails, it is that he may arrive at a certain harbor: therefore he sails by compass, so he can enjoy right direction to his desired destination.
A Christian should always have one eye upon his end and the other eye upon his way.
Not all men are as the wise mariner.
A man who lives a brutish life knows not what he lives for. This man acts as a fool who aims at heaven, and lives in random.
The end for which a wise Christian lives is that he may live without end. Therefore his way of living is to spend his life continually upon the true ways of life.
The Christian is always walking on those paths in which he can see heaven before him.#
The earth bound believer keeps one eye on the path and the other eye upon the prize.
Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. (1 Corinthians 9:24)
