A trailer's lesson!

Soul Snack 9/231 ... Approaching God - B

Heavily laden springs bounced noisily over the gutter. Blinkers thankfully functioning well for this trip to the tip.

Normally this trailer slowly rusts motionless on my fence line. It was a good and handy trailer. This trailer was purpose-built. The draw-bar longer, the tray longer, larger wheels, and even carry bars. The trailer's versatility spelt its own demise. Many would borrow and use it. Some would return it in poorer condition. Some would even say thanks.

The unspoken law of trailers is friendship. Trailers are magnetic for 'friends'. These 'friends' always come to me to ask. They would approach me only for their gain not my good.

As the years wore on sadly it became clear, some people, I never saw or heard from until they needed me again. These people weren't really friends. They simply came to gain and not give. Thanks would be secondary to their goal of getting.

Friendships are always 2 ways.

I feel very sad, when people only come to me to for their gain and take from me.

Open for me the gates of righteousness; I will enter and give thanks to the LORD. This is the gate of the LORD through which the righteous may enter. Ps 118:19-20

God too likes to be approached well. Firstly I approach my heavenly Friend with thanks. It is alway easy to start with thanks.

My prayer requests can always wait to later, He will still be there.
