A Traffic Parable
Has the good Lord hidden you in the cleft of a rock, is sand still grinding your shoes as you trudge through a desert or does He still have you in His waiting room - you know His promises are soooo real but still yet to arrive?
He counsels:
You sit in your car attempting to pull out from the driveway across three lanes of constant traffic in both directions. The road is wide that you are attempting to enter, and looks like any other you are very familiar and comfortable with. You attempt to turn north, but first you must cross the three lane path of oncoming traffic heading south. With no relent the cars, trucks, and motorbikes prevent your progress across all lanes. Reverse now, back into your driveway and be patient for the traffic to clear. The unseen traffic lights around that nearby corner will soon turn red, the traffic will stop and your pathway open.
...though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay. (Habakkuk 2:3c)
Sitting atop the small tables and scattered across those empty chairs of the Lord's waiting room are magazines titled ~ Purifying Patience.
His call remains to you to stand strong, hold your resolve firm with a patient courage and soak in the ongoing refreshment of His secret place.
Do not be in a hurry to leave today as tomorrow cannot be hastened.
Tarry at a promise for God will meet you there. ~ anon.
