A geriatric glow - B
Soul Snack 9/118 ... Manic Moses - B
What did Moses really look like? My speculation abounds!
My guess is that Moses was weather worn (he had been ashepherd in the desert for 40 years previously), weary and hirsute. I envisage large strong hands holding stones of tablets in great anger above his head. He had fiery, large 'don't argue with me' eyes and cut a commanding figure!
Yet somehow this impulsive, selfserving, God-arguing murderer had changed to a fearless leader literally reflecting God! So how had Moses been able to change?
The imperative for change is placing my presence in His presence. Change is achieved by doing nothing. My activity is not helpful, it is in fact distracting. To sit still is gaining change. He changes me for I can't change myself.
Do I want to learn grace ... sit with God!
Do I want to know wisdom and know words to sustain the weary ... sit with God!
Do I want to be gentle, understanding and merciful ... sit with God!
Do I want to receive power, long-suffering ability and abundant goodness ... sit with God!
Do I want to give in abundance, live the truth, and enjoy love deep and rich ... sit with God!
The more time I spend with God, the more I become like Him.
The more I give to God, the more I will get.
Change can always come because it is when I am in His presence that I receive His presents.
