A Christian's Heartbeat
Heartbeats are the surest signs of life.
What races through your mind when your warm feet hit a cool floor each morning?
Where do your idle thoughts fly to during the day?
At day's end when your head slams the pillow what does your soul rest upon? Could your mind then step upon heaven's staircase?
The closer a Christian lives with Jesus, the less space/opportunity for distractions/temptations/sin to slide in between.
Christianity is the conviction to amend life and navigate against this world's currents. Christians' march towards a heavenly self-death while dwelling on terra-firma.
Christians are to be glaringly counter-cultural. REMEMBER - Heaven operates in opposites.
Be holy because I am holy. (Leviticus 11:44)
Christianity is:
- separation from the world while still being in it
- living as light when all else is dark
- purity when all else invites impurity
- devotion in the body, for how the body is used and its energies spent is of utmost importance to Heaven. The body is to be an instrument of holiness, it is the temple of the Holy Spirit of truth.
Christians are the walking self-dead. They climb the only true stairway to heaven.
He who does not give up everything he has cannot be My disciple. (Luke 14:33)
There can be no resurrection of the body in heaven unless there is first a self-death upon earth.
