4 Lesser Taught Divine Principles
Principles are a man's compass, the center lines down his roads, and the sign-posts at his life's intersections - those points of response and decision.
The strong do not yield their principles while the wise also know why.
The Lord has laid out almost countless principles in His Word, and secreted many of them in human fallen hearts.
Below are four lesser taught Divine principles, they each reflect God's glory:
- Choose to be a giver without finding fault. (James 1:5)
Often it is easier to find a reason to not give than to give.
- Mercy triumphs over judgement. (James 2:13)
It is a too simple human flaw to despise a brother in his day of misfortune. (See also Obadiah 12)
- Those who sow to the wind reap a whirlwind. (Hosea 8:7)
People who conduct life in a hollow (worthless and foolish) manner can only reap that which is far worse. This a proverb that expresses the divine law of reciprocity.
- The man who fears God avoids all extremes. (Ecclesiastes 7:18)
It is at the extremes that both danger and sin lay in wait.
Permit the Word of the Lord to shape your heart that your feet may follow.
Wisdom opens the eyes both to the glories of heaven and the hollowness of earth. ~ J. A. Motyer
