2022 - A Vision of Waiting
Sayonara 2021!
For twenty-four months Covid has dominated all human life, for good - but far more for ill.
Delta and then Omicron variants are the headline variants stepping up as pseudo rulers of mankind. There is no limit to their reach and then their harmful impact.
A global union of men, a Babylonian attempt to win victory over Covid from unity, eludes.
Covid is a fear mongerer. And so far mankind has proved incompetent at containing the disease, let alone defeating it.
As the New Year turns men still regather hope. One calendar is closed, and an untouched one they flip open, emboldened by a suspicion of promise.
And so we all wait, in fear or in faith we sit impotently and wait some more.
This is how a man touches wisdom, he sits as Isaiah counsels:
Blessed are those who wait upon the Lord. (Isaiah 30:13)
Impatience multiplies worries, but patience is the mother of peace. It quenches a thirsty soul and reviews God's previous faithfulness. For, it is His faithfulness from yesterday that becomes today's anchors.
Last year I quoted evangelist and baseball legend Billy Sunday, Jesus the Christ is still the answer to every human need. This has not changed.
The time is present to reconfigure our priorities heavenward, and fortify the soul. This is very good, it permits faith to multiply.
Faithfulness in waiting is incompetence greeting omnipotence. Thus waiting becomes its own reward.
While you are waiting God is working. ~ anon.

Tribulation is the door to triumph. ~ anon
