A Salve to the Weak ~ B
Weakness is the conduit to self-crucifixion.
Whilever I continue strong in myself I have the energy to fight self-crucifixion. Yet a seed must fall to the ground and die before it can reproduce.
Very truly I tell you, unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. (John 12:24)
It is in weakness I am introduced to my failings, for my pride can longer sustain me.
Pride and its ever resilient strength obscures any accurate vision of myself. In weakness I lose my scaffolding, it collapses to the ground.
Celebrate weakness, for weakness and pride are never bed partners.
Weakness is both the home of humility and the doorman to heaven.
The Lord is close to the broken-hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. (Psalm 34:18)
