The Haven of the Heart
It is to the lost, least, last and lonely...
It is to the forgotten, the forsaken and the humanity's discarded...
... that the Lord desires this world to love as He does. These marginalized souls know no power within themselves, no confidence in their abilities as they live, even swim in the polluted streams of rejection or despair.
These refuse of the world have been shoved into life's pits and dwelt in its wells; they have sunk to the depths in a whale's belly and cried to the Heaven. It is these who are to be served as they live long in the Lord's heart.
There are those who have tripped in the deserts, been caressed by its siroccos but also terribly blasted by its sandstorms. Choose these to sit beside and shelter, for they are of much value to the Lord.
There are those who have also wept at Jesus' feet and washed them with their tears...
There are those who have also sat at Jesus' feet while being maligned by their closest friends...
There are those who also sneak out unseen in the dead of night to meet with Jesus and enquire of Him...
It is all these I want to fall in behind, sit near and smile upon. For they too belong to my Lord Jesus, yearning for His presence and for paradise from their barren trenches upon earth.
‘Then the righteous will answer him, “Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you ill or in prison and go to visit you?” ‘The King will reply, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” (Matthew 25:37-40)
The heart for another in need, sings the heart of the Lord in deed.
