The Devil's Boots Don't Creak
The serpent in the ear (temptation) became the snake underfoot.
Since Golgotha the power imbalance now moves away from the snake; for Calvary won over death 2000 years ago, yes - the tomb and the serpent both lost. Death holds no power over the righteous.
This victory holds exceedingly more than a mere hint of grace. The serpent was now crushed under the foot of a man.
No man or woman needs to be seated under the serpent's wicked and deadly authority any longer.
Without any fight, indeed little thought to, Adam readily gave his authority over Eden away. He obeyed the evil snake in preference to the good Lord.
But, Jesus reclaimed this authority over death on that first Easter Sunday.
When I sin it is truly returning the authority over my Christian life to satan, that whispering serpent who still seduces all mankind.
For each Christian, life remains a spiritual battle while on earth.
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (James 4:17)
Since expulsion from Eden, life has never been a playground but a battleground. Remember this, be always prepared, because the devil's boots still don't creak.
