Reconstructing Righteousness ~ B
Soul Snack 58/14 ... If you don't stand for something you'll fall for anything. ~ Alexander Hamilton
Much of the modern Christian pulse (but false) is falling for anything as it stands for nothing, in the impossible hunt for a salvation of all.
The language of man is now falsely honored as the language of God.
To stand for something is to exclude all those still seated. The world remains seated to the God of the Cross, but His call to His own is to now stand.
Inclusiveness is no more the truth about God than tolerance is the measure of love, or knowledge the measure of faith. Inclusiveness, a clever brother explains is a dough-nut Christianity - hollow and sugary with no centre and ultimately lethal if that is all you feed on.
The Holy Spirit leaves no doubt in His inspired Word, there are:
- goats and sheep (Matthew 25:31-33)
- weeds and seeds (Matthew 13:24-30) and
- those hot and those not (Revelation 21:27, 22:14-15)).
It is the seared soul that cherry-picks scripture to dilute its truth.
It is the deceived mind that recreates God in what is comfortable to its human thought patterns.
God seeks the broken spirit, not the one that is comfortable with sin and compromise.
My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise. (Psalm 51:17)
The scandalous call remains for the righteous sinner to deny themselves. There is no divine gardener who waters indulgence or the continuing sacrifice of sin.
Who is there who will give up his false faith or confess his immorality to receive the Crown of Glory?
Yep - Jesus even commands His disciple to relinquish sin.
Not one is measured upon the criteria they are simply a nice part of a fallen human race, so they are in!
Justice and righteousness are His plumb lines alone. They are the ONLY bed-partners of the redeemed.
I will make justice the measuring line and righteousness the plumb-line; (Isaiah 28:17)
Today's Soul Snippet:
Theology is how we measure righteousness, but righteousness is how God measures theology.
