Other's Opinion's of You?
Soul Snack 222/14 ... Sticks and stones may break my bones but words can never hurt me - is a lie.
Words are rarely hollow, they contain the power of:
- life and death,
- construction or destruction and
- comfort or distress.
Much is the torment of those who live in the voiced opinions of others, enslaved by their work results or consumed by such assessments that regularly float upon the wind.
Choose this day the soulful liberation of Jesus' advice:
My Child, live only for what is spoken about you in heaven.
Care nothing about any reputation you hold on Earth, no matter how noble, nor how slanderous.
Care only about the reputation you hold with Myself and My father.#
Or as Bill Hybels teaches:
Live for an audience of one.
Amidst the soul-tearing adversity and travails, the betrayals and the lies choose no defence, BUT rejoice - for YOUR name is written in the Book of Life; the register of all God's people.
Indeed, of Zion it will be said, ‘This one and that one were born in her, and the Most High himself will establish her.’ The Lord will write in the register of the peoples: ‘This one was born in Zion.’ (Psalm 87:5-6)
Inscribe this - yes, tattoo it upon your heart:
the time approaches when all the former things shall pass away, including the hurtful opinions of frail, foolish and ill-informed others.
