Made for Justice ~ Martin Luther King was right!
Soul Snack 173/14 ... Wiping out the Islamic State is impossible was reported recently.
Headlines are legitimately consumed by the blind savagery and injustice of the Islamic State.
Every soul pleads for justice; it is borne from the image of God planted within that all men bear. Yet, waiting for justice appears equally elusive as peace in the Middle East; and so the soul weeps.
Devoid of mercy, injustice invades all the corners of this earth. Since a pre-dawn Cain killed Abel this has been woven into the fabric of life. The drip of injustice dampens all our lives. When the drip multiplies to a torrent, it seeps into man-kinds' very marrow.
Liberation becomes the raucous call from the sufferer and human kindness alike.
God's very DNA is justice. This is an expression of His correct love.
God's most positive intentions and actions are again for well being. He sees all injustice. This He does not ignore.
“... For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all those who wait for Him." (Isaiah 30:18)
Injustice yells for a warlike response, it rudely mocks a just, fair and all conquering God.
The God of the cross is already intimately acquainted with injustice.
From the cross He calls ‘trust me', while His blood screams ‘patience'!
To respond meekly as the crucified Jesus did, or the apostle Stephen being stoned to death; I place myself in a position of favor with Him. (I want that). Injustice now becomes a call to trust, not an invitation to vengeance.
For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to everyone by raising him from the dead.” (Acts 17:31)
The moral arc of the universe is long but it bends towards justice. ~ Martin Luther King
It is not for me to pursue and deliver my justice.
My role is a call to WAIT not WAR.
